Murphy, ID to Nyssa, OR
65 miles
By the way, here is a link to Donna's website displaying her
photographs.
donnabortfeld.com
We have made it to a coastal state of Oregon. Just barely though.
Nyssa sits on the banks of the Snake River which borders Idaho and Oregon.
This is our 14th state.
Easter Oregon is much like what we just went through, hot, dry desert.
We will actually be climbing to elevations of 5000 feet tomorrow.
Considering we're at 1200ft now, it will be a haul. Cascade mountains are
the climbs and it will the last until we hit the waters in Washington state.
Today's ride was just another ride. it really does seem like a job but
we're still enjoying it.
Tom Apple, a local resident of Nyssa, has allowed us to camp on his
property. Snake river runs behind his place. That's the second time we
camped next to the Snake river. Thanks Tom.
To date, we have over 4200 miles.
Good night.
Jin, Glenn, Josh

You can still see the unemployment levels are high even after a few years of the recession first hitting. I like the fact that they try to call it a double dip recession vs calling it a depression but if it goes down for travel a couple years, then goes up briefly should it "count" as wiping the slate clean...You can see the effects in the honeymoons industry as people did not have the disposable income to book cruises or other activities that cost a pretty heft entertainment fund. Same is true with global brands joining other brands such as flight center to recapture lost market share...whatever happens people need jobs or they will begin to riot...once the unemployment checks stop.
